Under the supervision of a RN the student will assist in the evaluation and treatment of patients with simple and complex conditions. Obtain vital signs, perform EKG's, and venipuncture to obtain blood sample. Maintain unit readiness by stocking treatment rooms and checking equipment as directed. Transport patients to x-ray and inpatient units. Assist nurses and physicians in a variety of routine procedures and assessment of patients with a range of diagnoses, including minor illnesses. The student may be asked to participate in code situations as appropriate and as needed.
