Job Title: Physical Therapist - Physical Therapy

Duties & Responsibilities:This position evaluates and treats patients of all ages. Develop treatment plans with involvement family/support systems to meet the individual's functional goals. He/She provides direct supervision of support personal as related to patient care.

A. Evaluates plans, directs, supervises and conducts habilitative and rehabilitative programs for patients with physical limitations.

B. Consults and communicates with patient, family, and other multi-disciplinary team members and service providers.

C. Records and reports patient's progress towards established goals, and data related to care in the patient's medical record/chart.

D. Instructs patients in exercises, ambulation, and activities of daily living, safe body mechanics, home exercise programs, and return to work precautions.

E. Assists in maintaining the department and equipment in a clean and orderly manner in accordance with department policy regarding infection control and preventive maintenance.

F. Attends and participates in department in-services and meetings.

G. Delegates and supervises activities of physical therapy assistants and technicians, to assure efficient use of department resources

H. Is actively involved in planning and promoting department growth and program development

Minimum Requirements:

• Graduate of Physical Therapy Program
• Possess/maintain license in State of Iowa
• 1 year acute care experience preferred
• Have good relationships with people while dealing with a variety of physical disabilities.
• BLS (AHA)
• Mandatory Reporting for Child and Dependent Adult abuse training prior to employment or within 6 months of hire and maintain current status per State of Iowa
• ACLS (AHA)-within 6 months of hire
• PALS (AHA)-within 6 months of hire
• NRP-within 6 months of hire
• MANDT training within 6 months of hire
• TNCC-within 6 months of hire
