A postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately at the Tulane University School of Medicine, Department of Medicine - Section of Cardiology to conduct research in skeletal muscle biology. The successful candidate will be supervised by Dr. Tadashi Yoshida and Dr. Patrice Delafontaine. The project involves, but is not limited to, studying the changes in skeletal muscle molecular signaling pathways, physiology and function in multiple chronic disease models including cardiovascular disease and cancer. The position involves both in vitro and in vivo studies. Experience in both basic molecular biology and in handling rodents is highly desirable.
We seek a highly motivated, proactive and collaborative individual. This job involves designing and conducting research projects, mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, presenting at national/international conferences and writing manuscripts. The Pl will closely work with the successful candidate for training in all of these aspects, and the candidate will be encouraged to apply for independent postdoctoral fellowship grants within 2 years.

Motivation to develop an independent research project, in addition to the assigned projects.
