Job Summary
The Product Engineering Co-op will be responsible for managing plant automation projects, injection machine processing documentation and AutoCAD plant drawings within the Plastics Product Engineering Enclosures team; as well as, implementing changes to improve the current portfolio. Co-ops will have the opportunity to participate in projects following a stage gate process, from ideation to launch.
This position is expected to start in person around May 2025 and continue through the entire summer term (i.e. through August 2025). We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time, onsite for most internships.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform product testing and analysis on current and new products
- Collaborate with other engineers to solve complex design problems
- Develop an automation AutoCAD design, work towards implementation of automation
- Document design and develop injection molding process in clear and concise format
- Capex project management
- Support improvements of procedures
Job Requirements - Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering fundamentals and proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with design software and tools such as 3D CAD modeling and simulation software; Experience with Inventor and Vault will be considered an asset
- Strong attention to detail with a creative eye for solving complex problems
- Excellent interpersonal skills and exemplary oral/written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
- Willingness to travel up to 10%
