Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor, Lake Orion, is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the prototype/production build and assembly teams, while ensuring continuous operation through effective and efficient oversight of personnel and equipment. The supervisor will coordinate, plan, and direct all activities related to the production process along with ensuring safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity goals are created and met. The supervisor will collaborate with leaders to resolve and manage workforce labor issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead execution of the production system, focusing on problem-solving and people involvement.
  • Assesses work performance of team members; identify areas of performance improvement.
  • Trains and onboards new team members.
  • Manage production schedules by executing the build and ship plan.
  • Manufacturing area 5s activities.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement projects (e.g., cost reduction, efficiency improvements, etc.).
  • Verify, and support LOTO procedure including all applicable de-energization methods.
  • Lead efforts in developing, implementing, and maintaining the TPM system.
  • Manage tooling changeovers.
  • Ensure time and attendance for hourly associates are completed on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Minimize unscheduled downtime.
  • Support MRO daily activities.
  • Create reports on daily progress and performance.
  • Communicate with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production.
  • Support the development of the build schedule.
  • Hire, train and assess the performance of employees.
  • Promotes customer satisfaction (delivery, quality, cost) within operations.
  • Travel to various locations as needed. Overnight travel will be required at times.
  • Must be able to work off shift hours as needed.
  • Support company vision, values, goals, and business plan.
  • Develop safety first culture.
  • Adhere to corporate, federal, and state employment policies.
  • Adhere to all company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Predictable and reliable attendance.

Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in operations, Engineering, Business or Technical; Journeyman status, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in leadership of supervisory.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment and facility management.
  • Operations background with previous materials management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with ISO 9001, TS 16949, and ISO 14001.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management.
  • Experience with Plex ERP systems is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, technical, and computer skills.
  • Very strong leadership skills and ability to manage cross-functional teams.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Employee is required to walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk and hear.

  • May be required to recognize small numbers, letters, and symbols on prints, and/or operate field instruments/equipment.

  • May be required to travel to and navigate a variety of sites to fully understand material needs.
  • Must be able to manipulate equipment for calibration and modification.
  • Prolonged periods of operating equipment.
  • Excellent depth perception and reaction time.
  • Visual acuity to follow hand signals, maintain logs and inspect and maintain machinery.
  • Ability to maintain single-task focus and situational awareness.
  • May work in a variety of weather including extreme heat and cold.
  • Able to work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, stoop, push, pull, stand, and carry as needed to inspect, service, and operate machinery, equipment, and gauges.
  • Must work a rotating shift schedule; may need to work overtime in emergencies.
  • Must be able to maintain attention for long periods of time.
  • Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to physically operate heavy equipment.
  • The noise level in the work environment can be moderately loud.
  • The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
  • The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day.
