We are seeking a driven Project Manager to join AEC. AEC is looking for experienced professionals to oversee Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP) and other federal environmental projects nationwide. Responsibilities will involve managing client relationships, budgets, schedules, and project resources. Ideal candidates will be highly organized, proactive, and equipped with the leadership and management abilities needed to inspire and guide a project team toward successful outcomes.

Responsibilities:

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manages project budgets, schedules, and resources.
  • Directs professional and technical staff to complete complex environmental projects.
  • Coordinates and manages subcontractors/field personnel.
  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance
  • Manages project invoicing and cash flow management
  • Manages employees and munitions related projects including remedial investigations, clearances, and projects using advanced geophysical classification.
  • Applies a working knowledge of data collection, management, and evaluation and clearly articulates technical recommendations to clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Develops comprehensive conceptual site models.
  • Applies a working knowledge of CERCLA and RCRA to projects.
Minimum Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, earth sciences, or a related field
  • Client management experience
  • 10+ years of experience in environmental consulting
  • 5+ years of experience on federal projects
  • Exceptional communication, teamwork, and influencing skills that foster a collaborative and continuous-improvement environment
  • Ability to recommend approaches for new and improved processes
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in engineering, geology, earth sciences, or a related field
  • Experience interacting with Federal agency Program Project Officers, Contracting Officers, Remedial Project Managers, and technical staff
  • 5+ years of MMRP experience
  • Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, and schedules
  • Professional licensure (PE, PG, PMP, CHMM)

This position requires the ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining the physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, crawling, walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunity to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of 35 pounds or more. If required, individual must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to; hard hats, safety-toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Job is performed in a combination of office work, work throughout occupied and unoccupied buildings, and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Building assessments will be conducted throughout buildings including crawl spaces, attic spaces, and confined spaces. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
