In order to ensure your application is complete, you must complete the following:Medical Center Buyer to function as the Purchasing Manager for the Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) under the direction of the Assistant Director for Administration.
Duties Include:
Supervises purchasing staff
Interviews applicants, hires and trains new purchasing staff
Conducts performance management evaluations
Coordinates daily work assignments for staff based on workload
Prepares and maintains complex spreadsheets tracking an average of approximately 1200 orders per month for over 70 CCC investigators and their laboratories
Works with vendors, manufacturers and distributors on a daily basis with regard to pricing quotes, shipping and delivery and problems that arise with orders
As delegated buyer, oversees all orders entered
Reviews and approves all purchase orders over a certain dollar amount
Confers with principle investigators (PI's) on a daily basis to determine laboratory needs
Works with vendors and PI's to establish and implement discounted pricing for the CCC and their labs
Establishes, develops and implements policies and procedures as they relate to purchasing
Works with vendors on quotations
Prepares bids and bid waivers and sole source justifications to ensure that purchases flow smoothly through the system.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in accounting or business admin-finance
Required Qualifications
Experience in accounting field required
Financial experience in research and/or healthcare environment desired
Computer skills required with demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office applications including Access, Word and Excel desired
Experience using the University Fiscal and Human Resources Information System and OSU Research Foundation Purchasing System highly desired
Managerial experience required
