Job Summary
The Quality Control Technician must be able to perform and maintain front line quality inspections to control the level of product quality delivered to our customers.
Job Responsibilities
- Read drawings to determine specifications and tolerances for a variety of machined metal components
- Able to utilize a wide variety of inspection tools, particularly the use of micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc. to inspect product
- Define problems and report all issues with product to management for analysis and disposition
- Ensure that containment activities take place when discrepancies and non-conforming product is identified
- Perform all daily measurements and checks throughout the plant and maintain accurate documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve product and present to management
- Verify accuracy of inspection sheet data supplied from production group
- Ensure quality control reference material for active production is available for operators
- Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
Job Requirements
- High School diploma or GED, preferred
- Previous work in Quality Control/Quality Assurance, preferred
- Possess the ability to read and understand product drawings
- Must understand dimensional tolerance in both Metric and English
- Working knowledge and ability to use measuring instruments and test equipment
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs
- Lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Intermittent bending, lifting, stooping, reaching, walking and squatting
- Standing for long periods of time
