SUMMARY
The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing new business while growing and maintaining existing business at customers within the defined region. They will ensure Amphenol CMT is professionally and responsibly represented in the industry and that our organization meets the expected level of service, responsiveness and quality objectives of the customer. The Sales Manager will determine the appropriate split of time required in and out of the office to obtain maximum productivity and customer satisfaction. They will utilize knowledge of CMT and/or industry standard cable assembly and interconnect design and manufacturing practices in order to coordinate with customers on initial concept design services.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Execute sales strategy to achieve the established sales growth objectives for the territory.
* Frequent travel to customer sites to deliver presentations, support new programs and expand CMT business within existing customers.
* Proactively call on new and un-developed accounts, which will include cold calling and following up on leads.
* Develop new business opportunities to provide a foundation for continuous upward sales trends while meeting all profitability objectives.
* Establish professional and responsive relationships with customers to ensure total customer satisfaction.
* Understands needs of the customer, analyzes options and provides solutions that offer value.
* Act as a liaison between the customer and internal CMT core team members to ensure all customer expectations are communicated, understood and met throughout the organization.
* Work closely with CMT core teams to develop proposals and quotations for new programs.
* Coordinates with CMT Product Management and New Product Development personnel to perform complete technical assessment for each project quoted, and communicates if further clarification and/or documents are required from the customer.
* Acts as the lead on preparing written proposals in response to customers' requests for proposals, coordinates all information with internal Carlisle IT and arranges the formal response.
* Maintains up to date knowledge of the industry.
* Completes required daily/weekly/monthly reporting and forecast preparation on time.
* Utilize MS Dynamics CRM for opportunity development and tracking.
* Understands and works within Carlisle IT's policies and procedures.
* May require that the Sales Manager be accessible to Carlisle IT personnel or customers during evening, early morning or weekend hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
* 8-10 years of experience in sales, engineering customer service or project management in the medical interconnect industry within the defined territory.
* BS/MS Engineering degree preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
* Ability to read, write, speak and understand German.
* Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
JOB SKILLS
* Demonstrated ability to meet quotas and sales plans in a highly competitive industry.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively within all levels of a customer's organization, including engineering, procurement and senior management (Director and VP level).
* Solid technical knowledge of interconnect products, including wire and cable, connectors and interconnect assembly services.
* High energy and sense of urgency to drive new business growth.
* Highly motivated; possess the desire to set and meet high performance standards based on excellence for the benefit of the customer, the individual, team members and internal customers.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent presentation skills.
* Computer skills to include mainframe and Microsoft Office products.
* Maintains professional appearance and conduct.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is performed in a normal office environment with minimal physical risks involved. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate.
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
