Release of Information (ROI) Specialist

Release of Information (ROI) Specialist reports to the Director of Health Information Management. Process all requests for release of information by locating and retrieving the corresponding protected health information in a timely and efficient manner. Safeguard and protect the patient's privacy by verifying the release requirements are in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Must be able to interpret Release of Information Guidelines for validation of all ROI requests received. Verify the accuracy and quality of reproduced work and data entry prior to providing information to the requestor. Ensure that work is performed in accordance with federal and state statutes. Generate cover letters and invoices and mail information to the requestor. Upon receipt of payment, finalize the request and log the payment. Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding patient information. Answer all routine customer inquiries in an efficient and effective manner, set up the patient portal and track advance directives. Strong organizational /interpersonal skills; attention to detail and the ability to multitask.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be a high school graduate
2. Must have ability to operate office equipment including computer, copier, fax and scanner
3. Knowledge of HIPAA preferred
4. Ability to successfully pass Background Check and Drug Screen

Salary is commensurate with up to 10 years of experience.
