Assist Safety Director in reviewing, evaluating, and analyzing work environments and project safety in conjunction with supervisory personnel. This position requires up to 90% field travel. Design, modify, and coordinate safety programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent injury and disease under the direction of the Safety Director. Assist the Safety Director in enforcing adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals and compliance with corporate safety program standards. Collaborate and interface with operations on a daily basis to reach company objectives under the Safety Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Prevent hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through safety management and contacting supervisory personnel under the Safety Director.
  • Help examining jobsites, departments, & branches to assess/determine where safety improvements are needed.Positively impact company performance by focusing on first line supervisors.
  • Facilitate hazard recognition and solutions under Safety Director
  • Respond, as a resource of information, to supervisors' questions and issues regarding safety.
  • Develop ideas as to the source of unsafe behaviors and working environments.Recommend measures to ensure maximum employee protection.
  • Help train supervisors and field personnel on required and supplemental safety topics.Identify additional training warranted through needs assessments.
  • Assist the Safety Director as they lead and coordinate MetroPower's safety talk program to maximize effectiveness in terms of employee response, topic relevance, and impact on the workforce.
  • Assist the Safety Director as they lead customer safety training to support the company's customer relationships and reduce Branch 88 overhead.
  • Help to ensure that all laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals are followed.Provide communication to supervisors to allow for this abidance.
  • Review documentation to ensure all required records and reports are complete, accurate, and submitted per requirements and established procedures.Implement appropriate corrective action as needed.
  • Support the Safety Director in ensuring that the company is staying abreast new safety issues in the industry in order to react and implement adjustments as soon as possible.
  • Participate in operations' meetings to instruct employees in matters pertaining to occupational health and accident prevention under direction of the Safety Director.
