Senior Estimator

One of the most interesting civil general contractors in the New York City Area is looking to add a Senior Estimator to their team. The majority of their work is doing parks and landscape, but they are looking to expand to do a wider variety of projects. This position would help grow that side of the business bidding different types of civil work like utilities, roads, and bridges. Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
• Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
• Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and bid proposals.
• Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Monitor and update cost estimates as project details evolve.
• Assist in the development of project budgets and schedules.
• Maintain accurate records of estimated and actual project costs.
• Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in civil projects.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, HCSS, or similar).
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations in New York City.
