Effectively investigating, assessing, evaluating, and monitoring the suitability, risks and properties of site ground conditions is a crucial part of successful project delivery. Our team in Tampa, FL is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer (PE) to provide Geotechnical and Civil Engineering services for our Residential, Commercial, Municipal, Federal, Maritime, and Transportation clients.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Manage all aspects of geotechnical project coordination and client coordination
- Conduct geotechnical engineering evaluations and calculations including, but not limited to, design for retaining walls, shallow and deep foundations, ground improvement alternatives, slope stability, pavement sections, and slabs-on-grade
- Prepare routine correspondence, data and evaluation reports, standardized documents and work plans for internal and client review
- Prepare signed and sealed final geotechnical submittals as Engineer of Record
- Act as geotechnical engineering lead on multi-discipline design projects (complexity commensurate with experience) for private, municipal and Federal (USACE, NAVFAC, etc.) clients
- Provide field observations and construction monitoring support for engineered fill mass grading, drilled shaft installation, driven pile installation, stone column installation, flexible and rigid pavement, and other earth works
- Provide oversight of subcontractors in the field, as needed
- Review and provide quality control of geotechnical lab testing data, including grain size analysis/hydrometer, Atterberg limits, moisture content, maximum dry density, permeability, and LBR
- Review and provide quality control of construction materials testing reports as Engineer of Record
- Provide technical and field support for threshold inspections, as needed
- Provide technical and field support for construction vibration monitoring services, as needed
- Attend engineering society, industry workshops, and client meetings as part of ongoing winning work (business development) program
- Prepare proposals for local geotechnical engineering studies
- Assist proposal teams on broader-scope and multi-disciplinary private, municipal and Federal pursuits
What you will bring to the team: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or relevant field of study
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida is required, and ability and willingness to obtain additional state licensure by comity is a plus
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience
- Proven technical delivery as Engineer of Record
- Proven project management experience
- Proven client management and retention experience
- Geotechnical lab experience (Atterberg Limits, proctors, grain size analysis, hydrometer, moisture content, LBR/CBR)
- Deep foundation inspection experience desired, FDOT inspection certifications is a plus
- QA/QC construction oversight experience
- Willing to travel up to 25% of the time both locally and regionally with some overnight travel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both within a team and independently
