Job Description Summary
We are seeking a Senior Supply Chain Planner to perform worldwide supply network planning processes for assigned product groups. You will be responsible for developing and coordinating the plant production plans and demand requirements of master scheduled items for these assigned product groups.

You will also have responsibility for maintaining a proper balance of necessary inventories in line with production requirements and division inventory targets. You will also coordinate the manufacture and shipment of components and/or subassemblies to other Becton Dickinson Domestic and International manufacturing facilities.

You will be part of a manufacturing team that includes operations and quality for your assigned product area. You will also be part of the Supply Chain team at the plant and work closely with the Business Unit Supply Chain team to support demand requirements.

The applicant should be hands-on and focus on driving improvements in the supply planning process and execution. Applicant should have a positive attitude and the ability to work in a team environment. Applicant should be able to provide guidance and mentor junior planning associates on standard processes.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the worldwide supply management of a particularly large and complex group of medical device products. Acts as the "owner" of company finished goods inventories of these products.
  • Performs capacity planning and develops the master schedules for the plant.
  • Monitors and maintains master data and parameters associated with the supply planning process for these products. Completes the process for resolving inventory exceptions.
  • Develops the requirements for related rubber and plastic manufactured subassemblies through analyses and input of the master schedule.
  • Implement service strategies and drives improvements in customer satisfaction via increased product line fill, reduced back-orders, reduced shipments per order and increased on-time arrival of orders.
  • Monitors and maintains manufacturing schedule compliance metrics.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing relative to customer requirements and with Manufacturing and Quality on supply issues.
  • Ensures SAP business processes are being completed in world class fashion.
  • Provides analysis for the monthly Supply Consensus Meetings. (S&OP Process)
  • Prepares portions of the annual budget and quarterly re-forecast for area(s) of responsibility as they pertain to production volumes and material requirements.
  • Analyzes and plans the purchase of raw materials in accordance with established inventory policies. Prepares purchase requisitions for these raw materials to support required production through analysis of MRP generated reports.
  • Directs the allocation and shipment of components and/or manufactured subassemblies manufactured in Sumter and used by other BD facilities in the United States, Europe, South America, Japan, Brazil, and Singapore.
  • Leads the periodic plant manufacturing capacity analysis and presents results to Senior Leadership.
  • Leads special projects for the materials function as assigned by the Purchasing Planning Manager and/or the Sr. Supply Chain Manager, including direct assistance to other departments such as Finance, Manufacturing, Engineering, etc.
  • Analyzes Engineering Change Requests/Orders (ECROs) to determine impact on production and inventory levels to minimize scrap and lost production time.
  • Coordinates with Division R&D material requirements to support special Engineering factory workorders as issued from Division.
  • Monitors and maintains SAP MRP data base information as it pertains to the materials function.
  • Provides maintenance to master scheduling and requirements planning modules addressing exception messages daily.
  • Analyzes inventory discrepancies in Work-In-Process stocking locations.


Requirements
  • BA or BS degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Mgt, Finance or other majors must be combined with related work experience
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or related curriculum preferred
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in supply chain planning, manufacturing planning, and/or production inventory control
  • 1+ year exposure to MRP and automated inventory control Systems
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
  • Proven experience with global supply network planning processes.
  • Strong understanding of production planning and inventory management principles.
  • Experience in coordinating manufacturing and shipment processes across multiple facilities.
  • APICS CPM/CPIM certification a plus
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products

Work Environment:
