RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Tax Accountant to join our client's tax team in the greater Washington, DC area. The ideal candidate will have a robust skill set in MS Excel and experience with Alteryx, along with a comprehensive understanding of tax compliance and planning. This role involves managing tax reporting and compliance within the organization and ensuring accuracy in all tax-related processes.Key Responsibilities:Tax Compliance and Reporting:- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for the organization and its subsidiaries
- Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and filing deadlines
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date tax records and documentation
- Assist with tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities
- Analyze the organization's financial data to identify tax-saving opportunities
- Assist in the development and implementation of tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities
- Provide guidance on the tax implications of business decisions and transactions
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the organization
- Utilize MS Excel to perform complex data analysis and tax calculations
- Leverage Alteryx to streamline tax data processing and improve efficiency
- Develop and implement automated solutions to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of tax-related processes
- Continuously identify and implement process improvements within the tax function
- Work closely with the finance team and other departments to gather necessary information for tax filings
- Provide support and training to junior tax accountants and other team members
- Communicate tax-related matters effectively to internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with external tax advisors and auditors as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Working towards CPA or Master's degree in Taxation preferred
- 1-4 years of experience in tax accounting, with experience in a senior or supervisory role
- Strong background in tax compliance, planning, and strategy
- Proficiency in MS Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis tools
- Experience with Alteryx for data processing and automation
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
