RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client in Dubuque, IA is hiring an experienced Senior User Experience (UX) Designer - Design System who has a strong background in creating and maintaining design systems, as well as a passion for crafting exceptional user experiences through pattern and system design. In this role, you will help drive the evolution of our design system to the next phase, collaborate with cross-functional teams and accessibility specialists, and mentor junior designers.REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in HCI, Visual Communication, Digital Design, Product Design, Human Centered Design, or related field required
- MFA or advanced degree a plus
- 5+ years of experience in UX design, with at least 2 years focused on design systems
- Strong portfolio demonstrating experience with creating and maintaining design systems
- Demonstrated experience working in an Agile environment
- Experience with design ops and scaling design processes
- Experience with design thinking and Agile methodologies
- Excellent knowledge of user-centered design principles and methodologies
- Familiarity with frontend development concepts and limitations
- Knowledge in software usability principles and current trends and advances in interface design
- Knowledge of data visualization and information architecture
- Familiarity with design systems like Material Design, Apple Human Interface Guidelines, and Carbon Design System
- Strong communication, presentation and analytic skills
- Proven ability to lead design projects from concept to implementation
- Expert Figma user
- Familiarity with design token systems and their implementation
- Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and how to implement them in design systems
- In-depth knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (ability to understand and communicate with developers)
- Deep understanding of responsive design approaches
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
