Description: Our client is currently seeking a Sr Accountant
1x per week in Long Beach, CA
This job will have the following responsibilities:
Ensure timely and accurate accounting for monthly general ledger close, account analysis, financial analysis, account reconciliations, and various schedule preparations for financial, governmental, and tax audits.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred.
Equivalent education/experience/training considered.
Certifications or Licenses:
CPA preferred.
Related Experience:
5-7 years of related accounting work experience.
Ideally 2 years with a Big 4 CPA firm and 2 years in Private Industry.
PC Skills:
Proficiency in Email, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Skills/Abilities:
Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP.
Analytical skills for account reconciliations and expense analysis.
Knowledge of ASC842 leases, business personal property, and fixed assets.
Detail-oriented, able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Clear communication skills for interfacing with management.
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas).
Experience in healthcare, CMS, or Medicare preferred.
Working knowledge of Oracle, Concur, SQL, Access, and Outlook a plus.
Essential Job Functions:
Maintain accounting records and reconciliations with proper documentation.
Review and validate departmental Expenditure Tracking Reports.
Prepare and record general ledger journal entries.
Participate in monthly close meetings and provide financial analysis.
Assist in interim and year-end audit and tax processes.
Participate in special projects and ad hoc analysis.
Develop and review policies and procedures for process improvement.
Cross-train with other accounting team members.
Act as Subject Matter Expert in general accounting and expense accruals.
Support the achievement of organizational goals and other duties as assigned.
