Domtar is seeking aSenior Accounting Clerk to join our team at the MarlboroMill inBennettsville, SC where approximately 1000 tons of pulp and paper productsare produced daily. The Senior Accounting Clerk position is in Marlboro Mill Finance Department and reports directly to the Marlboro Mill Controller.
Job Responsibilities include
- Processing vendor invoices including verifying and obtaining payment approval, matching purchase orders, receiving reports and addressing exceptions.
- Performing detailed work for preliminary budget preparation.
- Ensuring compliance with taxation legislation
- Preparing billings and supporting schedules.
- Generating and maintaining revising customized reports and/or spreadsheets relating to vendor payments, general ledger transactions, purchase orders, utility accounts and leases.
- Providing general office duties such as responding to telephone inquiries and preparing information summaries.
- Performing reconciliation on a wide variety of financial data.
- Supporting monthend closing process.

Professional Experience/Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from accredited college or university, or 3 years of experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.
- General knowledge of manufacturing operations and processes.
- Strong skills in problem solving and critical thinking.
- Capacity to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Organize, set priorities and exercise sound judgment within established guidelines.
- Understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office Excel - must be skilled in spreadsheet software to enter, revise, sort, calculate and create tables.
- Establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with corporate & mill employees.
- Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired,
- SAP knowledge and experience is a plus.
