Sr. Manager, Social Impact & SustainabilityThe Senior Manager, Social Impact & Sustainability will play a pivotal role in advancing our social impact and sustainability strategies, programs, partnerships and initiatives that support the company's impact goals. This role reports to the Senior Director, Sourcing & Sustainability, and works in close collaboration with the Marketing, Communications, Operations Services, Supply Chain & Manufacturing, and People & Culture, teams. Success in this role will be demonstrated by effectively developing and delivering the company's impact strategies, driving awareness of CAVA's impact, building and executing efficient and effective partnerships and programs, and meeting the needs of internal and external stakeholders.

What You'll Do:
Environment and Greenhouse Gas Emissions Measurement and Management:
- Develop and implement methodologies to accurately measure and report CAVA's greenhouse gas emissions for regulatory and reporting purposes. Lead annual process to report GHG emissions per regulatory requirements.
- Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for emission management.
- Collaborate with internal teams to integrate emission reduction strategies into daily operations.
- Design and oversee waste reduction programs, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Promote and implement renewable energy initiatives across CAVA locations.
- Develop and drive progress on regenerative agriculture initiatives and sustainable sourcing practices in collaboration with the Supply Chain / Sourcing team
ESG Impact Reporting and Communications:
- Collect, analyze, and report data related to sustainability and social impact initiatives.
- Ensure transparency and accuracy in all ESG communications.
- Support the preparation and publication of CAVA's annual impact report and other Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) regulatory reporting requirements.
- Support sustainability/ESG lead in identifying and earning sustainability and social impact recognition, credentials, and awards.
- Monitor and report on emerging issues, trends, and the success of our impact communications initiatives, in close collaboration with the Sr. Manager Brand Communications Lead.
Social Impact and Philanthropic Giving:
- Lead the development and execution of CAVA's social impact strategy, focusing on community engagement, food security and reducing food waste.
- Develop, nurture, and manage partnerships with national and local community organizations that align with CAVA's mission and impact narrative.
- Coordinate employee volunteer programs and other social impact activities.
- Build out CAVA's corporate giving strategy, including policies and guidelines for financial and in-kind donations, and local and national fundraising initiatives. Evaluate and recommend funding opportunities that align with CAVA's values and social impact goals. Develop and manage CAVA's charitable giving programs.
- Track and report on the impact of CAVA's philanthropic investments.
The Qualifications:
- 7 years in Sustainability/CSR program development and communications
- Strategic thinker with proven success developing impact program strategies and initiatives; exhibits sound judgment and problem-solving skills
- Storyteller with outstanding communication skills, demonstrating clarity of thought, ability to influence, and adopting appropriate tone of voice; ability to transform complex narratives into messaging that connects with a variety of audiences
- Strong project management skills; gracefully manages multiple priorities in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Demonstrated experience in creating and driving impactful sustainability and/or social impact programs
- Track record of collaboration and positive, productive relationships with multiple internal and external partners
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information. (required)
- Familiarity with greenhouse gas accounting protocols, renewable energy systems, and sustainability frameworks. Prior experience in GHG inventory measurement preferred
- Experience driving and communicating impact in the food/agriculture, food waste, or food security sectors preferred
- Passionate, dedicated, with a personal reputation for kindness, honesty, and integrity
- Proficient in MS Office and various PR, social media, and employee communications platforms and applications
- BA degree in sustainability, communications, PR, journalism, marketing, or a related field
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to maintain stationary position to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
- Must be able to identify, analyze and assess details
- Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively
- Constantly positions self and move about to support ordinary restaurant or food production support or office operations, as applicable
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
