Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the Space Systems Command (SSC) liaison US Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.

The candidate will support the US INDOPACOM Warfighter Integration Office with experience in planning, organizing, and directing Space Operations and DoD Acquisitions. In coordination with the Warfighter Integration Office (WIO) Lead, the candidate will manage internal and external communications and capture functional and technical program requirements to meet current and emerging warfighter needs. Also, the candidate will lead and oversee the effective application of processes in the execution and delivery of SSC projects and programs within the contract.

The ideal candidate will work closely with US INDOPACOM and the warfighter to establish technology and operations objectives for SSC systems. The liaison must synchronize Unity of Effort between Space Systems Command and U.S. Space Forces - Indo-Pacific and develop strategic documentation to support WIO objectives within Indo-Pacific and other Combatant Commands. Additionally, this candidate will infuse space capabilities into ongoing wargames, deliver direct feedback to emerging developmental programs to meet warfighter needs, provide subject matter expertise on space-integrated, multi-domain system capabilities, and facilitate the transition of innovative capabilities to create strategic operational effects in support of the Combatant Commands' mission and priorities.

Job Requirements:

Skills / Experience Required

  • 20+ years' experience in Large Space Program Acquisition / Systems Engineering / Operations
  • 5 years of those 20+ years' experience in Space Operations or Space Operations support positions
  • 15+ years of experience with National Security Space ground, space, and/or launch systems
  • Provide recommendations on the overall Acquisition Strategy, to include tailoring of milestone requirements and documentation based on warfighter needs, inform technical and operational details for system deliverables
  • Strong skills in communicate systems development by understanding and advocating for warfighter technical requirements
  • Assist WIO program manager with drafting, reviewing, updating, coordinating of various acquisition-related products/documents and support materials necessary for the life cycle management of contract
  • Ability to brief technical audiences as well as General Officer/Flag Officer audiences on mission impacts
  • Effectively work as a member of larger dynamic teams
  • Education / Certifications
  • Master's degree preferred astro/aeronautical mechanical systems engineering computer science
  • Relevant work experience/training certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
