Your Role

As a staff pathologist at MilliporeSigma, you will oversee the development of new immunohistochemistry markers and play an active role in managing the current portfolio of immunohistochemistry markers, working under limited supervision and in collaboration with other members of the Pathology team and colleagues in Research and Development, Operations, and Quality. You will provide anatomic pathology expertise to the regulatory team to meet in vitro device (IVD) regulatory standards. You will also play a crucial role in strategic planning and the overall direction of pathology products and services.

Primary Responsibilities

• Score and interpret immunohistochemistry stains.

• Review H and E slides, pathology reports, and immunohistochemistry stains for new tissue blocks and maintain tissue block inventory.

• Research and provide pathology expertise in choosing new antibodies to develop for immunohistochemistry.

• Provide pathology expertise to quality and to regulatory departments to support in vitro diagnostic regulatory approval.

• Stay current on new immunohistochemistry applications in pathology with attendance of pathology conferences as needed.

Who You Are

Requirements:

MD/DO degree and residency training in pathology

Preferred Qualifications:

• A minimum 5 years' experience in the conduct and scoring of immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization (i.e., FISH), and other histopathology stains is required.

• ABP board-certified/eligible in AP or AP/CP

• A minimum 5 years' broad experience in anatomic pathology with experience in immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, and other histopathology stains.

• Advanced communication and presentation skills focused on training and/or teaching various audiences are desired.

• Strategic thinking about future directions for immunohistochemistry products and services.

• Highly motivated and can work with limited supervision.
