Who We Are:

The News and Information section of the Communications Department leads internal and external communications on behalf of SwRI, its broad technical programs, and its staff. Responsibilities include managing media relations, websites, magazines, press releases, brochures, flyers, and more.

Objectives of this Role:

• Support the News and Information section of the Communications Department, ensuring SwRI is represented well by complete and undamaged booth equipment and graphics at trade shows.
• Help ensure quality and safety by training staff members on proper setup and teardown of exhibit booth equipment.
• Assist in the customization of lead-tracking software to ensure quality leads are gathered during trade shows.
• Assist with other tasks related to trade show production, events, and meetings.
• Exposure to various types of marketing including graphic design, printed pieces, and digital marketing.
• Must be a year-round local student.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

• Check returning shipments from trade shows to ensure a complete shipment.
• Set up and check returning equipment to ensure functionality and note needed repairs.
• Use trade show management software to track inventory.
• Pack and label cases for outgoing shipments.
• Deliver or pick up items on campus as needed.
• Exposure to the trade show marketing planning process, task management, best practices, and applicable tools.
• Onsite assistance with corporate meetings and events such as Annual Meeting, SwRI Day, and others.
• Help with onsite setup of meeting rooms.

Requirements:

• Must be pursuing a Bachelors degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism, Business, Graphic Design or related degree field.
• 0 years: Interest in corporate communications, marketing or technology.
• A valid/clear driver's license is required.
