Summary:
Responsible for managing the sourcing portfolio for the assigned service line, encompassing supplies, services, and equipment. Leads strategic sourcing efforts in collaboration with stakeholders by developing and executing comprehensive work plans and opportunity roadmaps. This includes strategic planning, contract development, negotiation, communication, documentation, and implementation for initiatives within the service line that involve multimillion-dollar expenditures across the healthcare system. Ensures optimal value through contract strategy development, leveraging market tools, GPOs, and benchmarking.
Responsibilities:
Supports designated Service Line Committees and provides collaboration on new opportunities. Serves as a subject matter expert and routinely communicates with the buyer group to increase contracting and purchasing efficiencies. Serves as a Supply Chain Management liaison between different departments to gather, validate, track, and document necessary components of contract reviews.Develops and leads Request for Proposals (RFP) process for identified opportunities in related service line, to include working with suppliers on specific terms, conditions, and pricing to achieve market relevant value.Establishes vendor relationships to better negotiate contract pricing to align with national benchmarking. Communicates and collaborates, independently and directly, with business units and vendors, to support contract negotiations and contract terms.Maximizes contracts with the Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) to be financially and clinically advantageous. Maintains savings and spend data for assigned service line and is responsible for completion of Savings Tracker Worksheet (STW).Reviews existing contracts and identifies new savings opportunity by product and service category and vendor. Coordinates business reviews with vendors to monitor contract performance and identify future opportunities.Provides supporting analytics for contract strategy for key stakeholders. Collaborates with Supply Chain Business Intelligence Analyst to validate data, ensure adherence to policies and contract management tools. Monitors all system rebates in adherence to contract terms.Proactively looks for new opportunities to improve the development of contracts or renewal cycle of existing contracts for the Memorial Healthcare System (MHS). Responsible for maintenance of contract files and continuous improvement of the contract renewal cycle. Identifies and recommends contracting process improvements to standardize performance indicators, promote risk mitigation, and improve cost containment.Works collaboratively with attorneys regarding contract negotiation and drafting. Drafts and reviews contracts and contract templates.Exercises independent judgment and discretion in the implementation and oversight of the contract review process. Applies expertise to resolve novel and complex contractual issues.
