Systems Architect (Embedded Vehicle Systems)

We have successfully partnered finding technical talent for one of our most forward thinking engineering partners. Their company is focused on using their their size and talent to create nimble and unique solutions in Software Engineering, Cyber Security, Modeling & Simulation, Data Science & Analytics, Machine Learning, Energy, and Power Systems.

Responsibilities:

• Work alongside the U.S. Army Ground Vehicle Systems Center, engaging in a technically challenging and diverse career focused on manned and unmanned ground vehicles, robotics, vehicle electronics, and ground vehicle simulation.
• Utilize your engineering expertise in multidisciplinary research projects centered on ground combat vehicles
• Work closely with clients to interpret and break down complex platform requirements into organized and manageable engineering tasks across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's of Science or higher in Engineering or a related field.
• At least 12 years of related experience. Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering such as SysML UML, DoDAF, and UPDM.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an Active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Demonstrated experience with military electronics systems, subsystem and system-level testing and integration, and leadership responsibilities in a large project or effort.
• Experience with Deterministic and Non-Deterministic Data Bus Architectures, i.e., CAN Bus, Ethernet, etc.
• Ability to perform Functional Decomposition and Capability Development methods to develop new architectures.
• Integrate and develop data networks that cross multiple layers of information security (Classified/Unclassifed).
• Develop and execute system-level project plans.
• Experience with requirements management tools such as IBM Rational Doors.
• Proficient in communicating with technical engineering managers, system/software architects, software developers, and non-technical program managers, end users, and military leadership.
• background in embedded systems development and integration, computer vision, machine learning, autonomous navigation, and related fields will be essential in supporting the development and testing of optionally manned systems for DoD Science and Technology initiatives.
• Strong customer engagement and relationship management are vital for this role, so the candidate should be personable, knowledgeable, and a strong communicator.
• experience in embedded systems development, along with a deep understanding of various engineering processes, methodologies, and life cycles involved in creating vehicle systems and subsystem architectures.
• Desired Qualifications:
  • Process development and improvement management (CMMI).
  • Knowledge of legacy military hardware and software systems.
  • Familiarity with Time Sensitive Network.
