Responsibilities:

• Preventative maintenance on tanker trailers, trucks, flatbed trailers, van trailers, and some fabrication.
• Must be able to diagnose power units and use computer software.
• Inspect the overall condition of trailers to ensure that they meet the U.S. Department of Transportation's safety requirements.

Qualifications:

• High school education or equivalent and/or letter of equivalence from the Department of Transportation preferred.
• Two (2) years of on-the-job experience as a truck/trailer mechanic is required.
• Must be able to make inspections and perform maintenance/repairs to the Department of Transportation regulations.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Class A CDL
• Air Break Certified
• Must be an effective team member.
• Good oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with others in the immediate work unit and related support areas.
• Ability to follow simple verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
