Responsibilities:

  • Oversee vehicles and drivers to optimize resources, ensuring efficient deliveries, driver assignments, and route planning while adhering to safety requirements.
  • Maintain constant communication with drivers for 100% reliable customer service and support.
  • Manage schedule changes and adjust routes as needed, informing relevant operations and sales representatives.
  • Provide dispatch support during assigned evenings, weekends, and holidays; manage emergencies and review daily deliveries for efficiency.
  • Escalate accidents, product contaminations, and other emergencies, following SC Fuels' guidelines. Attend driver and safety meetings.
  • Review paperwork to ensure customer service, driver breaks, and maintain daily inventory logs, addressing discrepancies.
  • Correct customer service orders and manage recurring orders in the dispatch system; update internal barcodes.
  • Create and maintain reports as requested by supervisors or other departments.
  • Meet drivers in the field to address critical accounts and ensure successful new account setups.
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance with mechanics and maintain loading rack paperwork.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Communication:
  • Maintain open communication with departments about delivery issues; serve as the contact for operational questions.
  • Answer customer questions, referring them to customer service when needed. Use customer order history to aid in routing and emergencies.
  • Work cooperatively with others, contributing to a collaborative and respectful environment.
  • Seek guidance from supervisors or managers as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of dispatch or transportation experience.
  • 1+ year of administrative experience.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and related industry experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with quick learning of new applications.
  • Intermediate English proficiency; bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multi-task.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to remain calm under stress.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Demands:
  • Regular sitting, frequent use of hands for office equipment.
  • Frequent talking and hearing in person or via phone.
  • Occasionally lift/move up to 30 pounds.
  • Moderate noise level.
