JOB DESCRIPTION: Parts Coordinator
LOCATION: Houston, TX

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
The Parts Coordinator is part of the Equipment Division, working with service managers, mechanics and related staff toward a common goal. The position works in a fast-paced environment and is responsible for ordering parts, creating purchase orders, processing invoices, developing and maintaining relationships with vendors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Procuring parts, materials, and supplies for the service department.
  • Creating purchase orders and processing invoices.
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with equipment dealers, manufacturers, current and new vendors.
  • Assuring timely deliveries to mechanics and vendors.
  • Utilizing computer software programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources and Safety.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • 2+ years of related experience. Preference will be given to those with industry experience.
  • Experience with commercial trucks and/or heavy equipment is preferred, but not required.
  • Effective communication skills are required. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.
  • Moderate to high level of computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Outdoor and indoor shop environment with adequate ventilation

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY LEVEL
Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily product/technical nature.

MANUAL DEXTERITY
Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
